Madden 10 Walkthrough!

The theme for today seems to be walkthrough mania. Last week we debuted the new trailer for Madden 10 Wii. I’m sure you’ll remember me cutting jokes about the visual style. Yes, it looks silly. Apparently there are only 5 character models: QB, WR, Line-Backer and Defensive Lineman, D-Back, and Offensive Lineman. EA are doing this to make sure you know you are playing Madden on the Wii. The game now offers not only a distinct feel in how it plays, but in how it looks as well. EA is also mixing up the controls a bit, mainly eliminating the ridiculous amount of gestures you needed last season. Now, nearly every move is mapped to a button. This is great news! They’re also integrating the Call Your Shot feature into the defensive package. I’d assume it’s basically defensive hot routes; select player, select his coverage zone or blitz. You will be able to do this with everyone on D. Call Your Shot is still usable on offense, great call as it was a really fun feature. The biggest change on offense is the passing scheme. You’ll hike the ball with A, then point to intended receiver, and press A to throw. This could work, or it could be disastrous. Do you do all that before or during a cut? What about speeds of the pass and the receiver? Let’s hope that EA doesn’t mess this up as it will be a game killer. There is still plenty of time before Madden 10’s August 14 release date, so I’m sure EA has time to iron out any wrinkles in gameplay. For now, however, you can enjoy the first ever walkthrough of Madden 10 Wii by lead designer, Matt Read. Enjoy.
